2007 Ingathering Update

 

School Bags     500 @ $12.00 each             $6,000.00

Health Kits      500 @ $11.00 each              5,500.00

Flood Buckets    65 @ $45.00 each              2,425.00

Blankets           451 @  $ 5.00 each              2,255.00

Nothings/Nets  286 @ $10.00 each              2,860.00

 

  This total is an increase over last year, due to more flood buckets and the Nothing But Nets drive.  We didn’t increase the number of school bags or health kits. I am hoping we can do this for 2008. The need is so great and as a larger church, we need to be an example for all to make the work of UMCOR sufficient for all disaster victims.

   Thanks to each of you for doing what you can to ease the pain of disaster and poverty. Working together, I hope we can do even more this year. Remember, let’s do whatever it takes to achieve higher goals.

We have received only twenty-five new orders for bricks. We are waiting to get closer to 100 so the next section of bricks will be feasible. Now is the time to order if you didn’t during 2007. Order blanks are available at the Information Desk. If you have questions, cal l Janet (648-3331)

January Mission Emphasis

Please remember the pantry during the month of January, either with food items or a check marked Pantry. The food is depleted during December each year. Specific needs are:

    Pancake mix - syrup

    Tuna and Treet

    Crackers - Biscuit Mix (indiv. pks)

    Dry milk (qt. pks.) - Jello

    Peanut Butter -  Canned Veggies

    Pudding

Blankets of Love

You have the opportunity to keep a disaster victim warm and to supply a sense of security by purchasing a blanket for $5.  You may give these in honor or memory of a loved one or friend. These will be listed in the bulletin on February 10th.  Turn in your order form and money by February 6th.
