Goddard United Methodist Women has a membership of 111 with an average attendance of 25 at general meetings.  Four circles meet monthly with attendance of about 40 members.  All circles meet on the first Tuesday of each month and the general UMW meets on the second Tuesday of each month.  The circles and meeting times are as follows: 

· Circle 1                9:30 a.m. in the Church Parlor

· Circle 2                1:30 p.m. in the Church Parlor

· Circle 3                7:30 p.m. in a designated location

· Joy Goddard        7:00 p.m. in the Church Parlor

· UMW                   1:00 p.m. in the Church Parlor

Circles provide meals for bereaved Goddard Families, contribute to Goddard’s Ingathering portion by making and filling school bags and buying blankets.  Also, contribute to Interfaith Community Center, Goddard Youth Meals, Rescue Mission Meals, Women’s Crisis Center and the Clearing House plus Goddard’s Pantry and VBS.

 

At the District Meeting last October, Goddard was again awarded a “Five Star Unit” for the year. Goddard was also recognized as a member of the Cecilia Weeden Charter Club for social justice and as a “Ruby Unit” of Mission Today.  Two Goddard woman received awards for participation in the reading program and two Goddard women became “Five Star Women” for completing steps for undesignated giving.  Goddard also had the mission study on “Interfaith” which was open to all church members.

 

Goddard United Methodist Women participate in Church Women United, Fort Smith District United Women and the Arkansas Conference United Methodist Women.  We have five members serving on the District level and one of our member is the District President.  For further information, Call Fern Daniel, UMW President at 646-5460 or      e-mail fernbennie@cox.net.
